Each student's quarterly grade will be based upon their preparation for class and class participation. They MUST be in complete uniform. Students must wear school shorts & t-shirts for Physical Education class. Students have the option of wearing their sweat shirt & sweat pants or their regular uniform OVER their school shorts & t-shirts.
During Physical Education class students MUST wear school T-shirt and shorts. This means they are worn under their sweats during the school day. Proper footwear (sneakers) is required , along with white socks. No jewelry may be worn. No special sport wear is permitted (wrist bands, soccer socks, etc....)
Many parents are concerned that during the winter months it is too cold for students to wear t-shirts and shorts. The gym is warm during the winter months. If it is chilly on a particular day, the physical education teacher will inform the principal and the students will be allowed to keep their sweat pants and shirts on for classes. In the warm months, please continue to come to school in complete uniform. Mrs. Carney and/or the teachers will allow the students to wear their t-shirts/shorts during the
school day when it is too warm in the building.
Any student who is not in complete gym uniform may NOT participate in Physical Education class that day. They will be given work to do and will receive an incomplete for the day. Please note this is part of their quarterly grade.
Any student who cannot participate in class must come to school with a note stating the reason they may not participate that particular day. If a student will miss class for an extended period of time, they must submit a doctor's note. They will not be permitted to resume physical education classes until the same doctor issues a note to the school stating they may resume classes. If a student does not participate in class AND does not supply the teacher with the above mentioned note, they will receive an incomplete for that particular day. If a student is not participating in Physical Education class for a medical reason, they are to wear their regular uniform to school.
Thank you for your cooperation!
